The company has technical talents corresponding to relevant majors from structural design to software and hardware development, optical, mechanical and electronic integrated images transmission and processing, as well as technical strengths on innovation, fabrication and development of products in the modern industry of education equipment and apparatus. Ever since founding of the company, the R&D team has been expanded constantly; R&D capabilities of the team have also been steadily improved. The company now has a R&D team of 86 talents (including 4 medical mentors, 2 doctors and 56 with bachelor-above degrees), which attracts technical elites of different majors, such as optics, video photoelectric information, software, hardware, mechanical design and program planning.
Under the premise of guaranteeing certain capital support, the company has established a specific program team while providing specialized scientific research laboratories and necessary equipment for experimental test. It now owns 3D printing equipment, HD digital collection laboratory and high-precision slice scanning platform; it has provided the supporting platform for technical scientific research of the company and created the environment for debugging and pilot run of software products. In 2014, it achieved with ISO27001 certification for the guarantee of its products through the information safety management system.
The company started to research China Digihuman in 2007. Under collaboration of numerous medical universities and on the basis of fully utilizing the existing research achievements, it spent 7 years in the development of “China Digihum Ananatomy Teaching Software”. The software is currently the only application in China that has been developed by using human body data of Chinese people. It has obtained 3 invention patents, 6 corresponding software products and 12 software copyrights. In 2012, it passed the accreditation of Chinese Society for Anatomical Sciences and Department of Science & Technology of Shandong Province.
The company-oriented digital human body research center was approved in December of 2012. It is mainly based on the application of 3D digital human body model of Chinese racial characteristics, which aims at carrying out systematic research works in terms of application research, development and industrialization of digital human body, so as to establish a high-tech platform that integrates technical R&D, incubation, pilot-scale test and industrialization.The Engineering Center focuses on carrying out research development works by integrating life science and information science, so as to construct the information system for tissue morphology, physical functions and biological functions of human body, satisfy the increasing demands of medical and teaching fields on high technologies, including assisted anatomy teaching, self-study of students, preoperative assistance for clinicians, and make due contributions to the medical research, application and teaching of digital human body.
Relying on the company, the Center was approved in December of 2013. The platform serves as the scientific research innovation system for the formation of joint efforts to tackle key problems and industry-university-research collaboration of the company and various excellent colleges, universities and research institutions, including Shandong University School of Medicine, the Third Military Medical University, Southern Medical University and Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Main research contents of the Center include virtual simulation of microscope (digital slices), virtual simulation of pathological mechanism (Yichuang Pathological Specimen Digital Teaching System), virtual simulation of parasite (digital slices of parasites) and virtual simulation of anatomy (China Digihuman Anatomy System). Various medical colleges are in charge of offering the respective medical specimens, professional medical training and work instructions and actively providing high-quality teaching specimens for the fabrication of digital products while guaranteeing that no loss to teaching assets of the school occurs. It ensures the high quality and authority of medical morphology virtual simulation experimental products, actively encourages teachers to participate in the development of virtual and digital experimental teaching resources, arouses and protects enthusiasm of teachers participating in the development by using the system. The industry-university-research collaboration fully utilizes high-level teaching platforms of various medical colleges and constantly improves the quality of virtual simulation experimental products.
By using the industry-university-research model, the Innovation Team actively coordinates with various medical universities, relevant research institutes and hospitals, and researches major key, fundamental and common technical issues in the digital human body industry; it constantly launches scientific research achievements with good application prospects and carries out serial, matching, intelligent and engineering research and development while considering requirements of different customers. By constructing the database for the development of digital human body products, it concentrates talent resources and equipment of enterprises, medical schools and corresponding research institutions to carry out major key subject research, establishes good partnerships with colleges, universities and other corresponding research institutions in China on the similar system research, exchanges experiences, intelligence, professional information of the industry and market information between each other, summarizes and sublimates progressive achievements in time, avoids repetitive studies and promotes multi-level communications and common development of colleges, universities and corresponding research institutions within the industry.
The Laboratory aims at constructing itself into a major base in the province, even in China as a whole, for scientific and technological innovation, product development, industrialization and technical service of the human body digital simulation industry. It emphatically carries out fabrication, production process, core techniques and key process improvement research of high-end human body digital simulation medical equipment and products, so as to increase the technical level of human body digital simulation in China and constantly launch new technologies and new products that satisfy requirements of human body digital simulation of digital medicine, digital treatment and precision treatment nowadays. The Laboratory offers open service and carries out extensive technical cooperation and research; it accepts technical research and experiment tasks on human body digital simulation entrusted by enterprises, scientific research institutions, colleges, universities and other units, cooperates with medical universities and scientific research institutions through independent R&D, conducts introduction, absorption, optimization and integration of relevant technologies associated with human body digital simulation, promotes transformation of technical achievements and constructs the platform for industrial production, technical exchanges and information exchanges of human body digital simulation.
Relying on Shandong Digihuman Technology Co., Inc. (formerly known as Shandong Echung Electronics Co., Ltd), the Center was approved in July of 2013. The Center applies itself in development, application and achievements industrialization of digital human body of the company. Its functions are defined as follows: scientific research base of the company, transformation base for scientific and technological achievements, digital human body exchange center, training base for digital human body applications, pilot-scale test base for digital human body achievements and the cradle for high-tech products.
